Wall St Journal
Spring 2009
Tshirts

Hi and welcome to our spring issue of the Wall St Journal – where we let you know what is happening in the world of wallpaper and interiors, as well as what's new in store at Wall St.

With these gorgeous sunny days, spring really is in the air and Christmas is just around the corner. So, we’ve been busy scouring the country and visiting trade fairs selecting an array of goods that will make fabulous presents for your friends and family. Check out the last posting dates for overseas Christmas presents. And if you really cannot bear to think of Christmas shopping just yet, then why not make use of our lay-by service.

At Wall St we try hard to support local design.  Handmade greeting cards made by local Wadestown woman Dianna Bodman are ever popular and absolutely unique. Or have a look at the beautiful crocheted hair clips by a Karori mum, under the name of Alice and Daisy. Or perhaps you would be keen on the wonderful button hair ties and clips for wee girls designed and made by local mum, Kerri Cook? In this edition of the Wall St Journal I have included lots of new designs by local people to keep your eye out for…

Don’t forget to pop in and pick up a 'Wish List Card' to leave lying strategically around the place!  Or be less subtle than that fill it out and give it to me to organize with your loved one…then act surprised when the gift of your dreams arrives, beautifully giftwrapped and on time!

Wish List Cards!

Thank you for all your support and please feel free to pass this newsletter to all your friends who may not know about us and the treasures we have on offer.

Whats new in store
Harlequin Identity

Feast your eyes on these delicious new retro wallpapers from Harlequin. Recently launched, they have caused quite a stir in our wee stretch of the woods. Identity is a stunning collection of eight individual designs, each of which makes a rather powerful statement. These wallpapers are all 'paste the wall' papers, making the hanging even easier than before. The houses look like a row of houses straight out of Tinakori Rd!

The retro lampshade wallpaper is also very stylish and would suit a dining area or a kitchen splashback or even under a kitchen island.

Identity wallpapers are priced from $190/roll

Where's that Wallpaper?
Primrose Hill

A new edition to the Wall St Journal will be a feature home where we will photograph and include interior design jobs completed by Wall St.

This Wadestown home of Lisa and Chris Ritchie features a Designers Guild Wallpaper from the Primrose Hill Collection... We needed 3 rolls to cover this large living room wall and it looks simply stunning. Lisa says it has “given the room a personality and looks fantastic at night because of the metalic background.”

Ways With Wallpaper
Frames

Wallpaper is the new black, and designers are luring the timid away from neutral walls and more towards dramatic finishes.

Feature walls are back in vogue using today’s wallpaper with its inspirational designs, innovative textures and the ingenious use of colour. If a Feature wall is not quite you, then  how about wallpaper as art?

Use wallpaper placed in large frames and painted in either a high gloss black or a high gloss white finish to add a contemporary but dramatic update to any living space. Alternatively paste wallpaper to a large canvas to create instant art. Three pieces in the same style and size looks great on a large wall as a triptych.

Vintage wallpaper – such as that found when redecorating your home – looks beautiful when framed and provides a unique talking point.

Wallpaper as art is a stunning and affordable way to create a beautiful and ingenious feature for your walls. Call in and speak to us about how we can help produce a piece of art for your home.

Interior Design Tips
Spring Cushions

The Spring/Summer decorating trends are mirroring the fashion trends for this year. Vibrant colours such as yellow, purple, sea blue-greens, greys and metallics are storming rooms, and creating an optimistic feel. These bright, sizzling summer tones are calmed down with neutrals to give them mass appeal, as well as a sophisticated feel.

By replacing winter’s cosy throws and cushions with fabrics in this season’s colours and trends you can update your home without spending a fortune. Mix in textured linens and bright fabrics as well as scatter cushions around the room for an instant makeover.

At Wall Street we can create your own unique cushions as well as euro sized cushions for your bed, in a range of  fabrics, finished with luxurious feather inners. These bespoke cushions begin at $30 plus the cost of the fabric.

If all this sounds gorgeous but you need advice in choosing colours or fabrics then we can lend a helping hand. Don’t forget Stephanie also provides an interior design service to help transform your home. From a simple colour scheme, help selecting a lounge suite or a whole home makeover, call in to discuss your requirements today. The cost of Wall St’s interior design service is $75/hr.

Word From Steph
Oobi

I have just returned from the Christmas Gift Fair in Auckland.  What a mission!  I must have walked about 30 km in one day!  But I managed to find some real treasures which will be winging their way to Wall St in the next few weeks.

Some of the gorgeous new products include a beautiful range of children’s ware, including boys, finally.  I have never really stocked much for boys as I have never been able to find exactly the right product and this time I did.  Some great cowboy shirts, beach shorts and wonderful sunhats are arriving soon, as well as the ever popular Oobi clothing for girls – Oobi was voted number 1 favourite baby and kids brand by Kid Style File in Australia, and their new summer range is just adorable. Yee Ha cowboy shirt $45, Squish Taggy Toy $29
